The Italian Sea Group S.p.A. has inaugurated a new shed as part of the general expansion plan "TISG 4.0", which will be able to host the shipbuilding of vessels up to 80 meters. The shed, which is spread over a single span, has a length of 126 meters and a width of 26 meters. It is equipped with two overhead cranes with a total capacity of 60 tons and state-of-the-art smoke and dust extraction systems.
GammaDoors has designed and built two vertical doors (see model Magnus Door) for large openings. In addition to the two doors, the project also included a series of remotely controlled automated windows (see model Industrial Windows).
Magnus Door - The Magnus Door covered a space over 22 feet high and 23 feet wide and achieved a Class 3 wind resistance rating (see certificate). The door curtain is lifted upwards by means of traction belts fixed on the winding shaft and on the lower truss beam. The double "modular" PVC curtain of very high quality, allows, in case of breakage, the interchangeability of the single sectors thus avoiding integral replacements.
Reliable and resistant to atmospheric corrosion typical of marine environments, the Magnus Door requires minimal maintenance.
The Magnus Door has been automated by a series of engines distributed along the coiling roller for smoother movement of the structure.
